Deictic Framing Performance Fails to Generalize to Other Perspective-Taking Tasks

Abstract The behavioral processes underlying perspective taking have not been studied extensively. One approach to understanding and enhancing taking, deictic framing, has proposed. Proponents of this suggested that framing is a core property taking. A training protocol based on developed tested, but researchers generally evaluate the effectiveness using tasks similar format protocol. Little research examined protocol’s for improving performance in different perspective-taking tasks. We investigated generalization three groups university students trained with deictic-framing (or not) tested two other tasks: visuospatial cupboard containing range objects version implicit relational assessment procedure specifically designed measure first group was original verbal expressions; second same involving nondeictic words; third merely exposed expressions as control condition. results fundamental experimental significantly from group’s performance.
